Rainbow Helicopters featured in Flying Magazine, the worlds most widely read aviation magazine.
We are excited and honored to have been featured in the latest issue of Flying Magazine. We had the pleasure of flying a doors-off mission with photographers Jim Barrett and Stephen Yeates and author Julie Boatman, who we met at the Women in Aviation International Conference earlier this year in Nashville. It was great to be able to introduce the 8 helicopter Rainbow fleet and give our guests an unforgettable full-circle doors-off Oahu helicopter tour.
We flew in Rainbow’s speedy and maneuverable A-star helicopter and showed off the gorgeous waterfall up in the heights north of Punaluu. We literally went chasing rainbows afterwards as we came across the Dole pineapple fields on our way back into PHNL. It was a pleasure to be able to give our guests a new perspective above some of Oahu’s most iconic landmarks.
Known for its outstanding proven track record, the Airbus AS350 “A-star” has a spacious and comfortable cabin and panoramic interior for optimum visibility. Due to its high useful load, powerful Arriel 1D1 Safran engine, and floor to ceiling views, Rainbow guests can enjoy extraordinary views in a superb helicopter that seats up to six guests. Rainbow currently has two A-stars in order to ensure availability of the 6-seat platform at all times, even when one is in maintenance. This magnificent helicopter is designed with a single engine and a three-blade primary rotor. The A-Star is quick, easily maneuverable, and easy to start up or turn off. It’s also one of the larger commercial, civilian helicopters, standing at over 10 feet tall and almost 36 feet long. If you’d like to reserve your flight on a A-star, you can select it as a customizable option when booking one of our world-class Private Custom Charters.
