Rainbow Helicopters fly to Iroquois Elementary School for Wheerls Day 2025

Rainbow Helicopters made a special visit to Iroquois Point Elementary School for “Wheels Day,” inspiring the next generation of aviators.

Wheels Day: Inspiring Hawaii’s Keiki

Wheels Day is a cherished annual tradition at Iroquois Point Elementary School, created to introduce keiki (children) to various modes of transportation in an exciting and interactive way. The event provides young students with a hands-on opportunity to see, learn about, and engage with different types of vehicles that play essential roles in everyday life, from land and sea to air transportation.

A Special Visit from Rainbow Helicopters

This year’s Wheels Day was particularly special as more than 200 students, ranging from kindergarten to second grade, gathered with eager anticipation for a unique aviation experience. Among the highlights of the day was the arrival of a Rainbow Helicopters aircraft, offering students a rare, up-close look at the wonders of vertical aviation.

For many of the keiki, this was their first time seeing a helicopter in person, making the moment truly unforgettable. Their eyes lit up with excitement as they watched the aircraft descend from the sky and land right before them, creating a magical and inspiring experience.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Aviators

“This is an incredible opportunity to share our passion for vertical aviation with the next generation,” said Nicole Battjes, owner of Rainbow Helicopters. “For many of these students, this may be the first time they’ve seen a helicopter up close. We hope to inspire future pilots, engineers, and aviation enthusiasts through this experience.”

Beyond the thrill of the landing, students also got a hands-on learning experience. They explored the helicopter, asked questions, and discovered how aviation plays a vital role in Hawaii.

Encouraging Big Dreams Through Aviation

Wheels Day continues to spark curiosity and excitement in young minds. Community events like this help students explore new possibilities for the future. Rainbow Helicopters hopes to foster a lifelong love for aviation and encourage Hawaii’s keiki to dream big.

“Through events like Wheels Day, Rainbow Helicopters aims to inspire Hawaii’s keiki and showcase the endless possibilities that aviation offers.”
