The experience I had at Rainbow helicopters, was absolutely, hands down the best experience of my life! The check-in process was flawless and the safety briefing was thorough, and then I met our pilot. The surfing hottie from down under. The Australian man, who flew so smoothly, I was in awe. Listening to Captain Conor talk about Pearl harbor as we soared across the blue Hawaiian skies. I never wanted it end. Then we came back and had to end the adventure. Captain Conor landed that ship so gracefully and smooth, that even the birds in the sky were in awe. We touched down with the lightest touch, you could have sworn we were still in the air! On my next helicopter adventure, I will absolutely be looking forward to flying with the one and only, pilot from down under, Captain Conor Clarke.

Highlight of our Kona trip!!!! The customer service and hospitality of the team was exceptional! We booked a private flight with just the two of us. I was just over the weight limit. Had to reschedule for different day on bigger copter that holds more people and would be with other people. However, on that flight, the other passengers couldn’t make it. So we ended up private after all. Wilson was a great host, Michael “Turtle” was a great knowledgeable pilot, I forget everyone else’s name. But they were all very hospitable. The flight was amazing. 1.5 hours of coastline and waterfalls, canyons, valleys, and picturesque views of the largest volcano Mauna Kea. Very smooth ride. Even though the pilot said “turbulence” in areas. We barely noticed any. Highly recommend paying extra for the pictures AND video package of your flight. One half of the video image screen is inside of copter, bottom half is outside views..

Fantastic pilot and ground crew. Website isn't clear about chances of seeing the volcano. We understand that seeing lava is rare, but the volcano is often shrouded in clouds and/or rain. We paid a lot of money and didn't see the volcano. Still a great tour, but knowing the odds may have changed our decision to spend the money for the long volcano tour. For Rainbow's top tour, one might expect the few ground photos to be included (costs them nothing). Way too much money for a few ground photos of the helicopter, pilot, and us.

Totally amazing experience!!! Our pilot was professional, knowledgeable, and made the flight feel smooth and relaxed while pointing out landmarks like Kealakekua Bay, the Captain Cook Monument, Kaʻūpūlehu Crater, and the Kona coffee farms below.
