Compared a few companies and decided to go with Rainbow Helicopters for my first experience - and so glad I did 🙂 Am a solo traveler so I called them the day before to confirm my spot, and they accommodated my request for a window seat on a doors-off tour. The ground staff were all very nice and patient, provided all the equipment we needed. The pilot, Ben, is amazing too - he took the time to explain landmarks and features that we were flying over, the weather conditions (we flew through sun, clouds, and rain, and it was awesome), and answered our questions very well. I also can't complain about seeing some really cool planes on our final descent back to the airport 🙂 Would absolutely recommend (and I will do it again next time I come to Oahu!)"

The pilot was very good in showing us the different sites and was able to answer any question as we flew along. I highly recommend this tour company as they are very professional. I am not sure if this is how it is on all the flights but we had a later flight 3:00pm (with dusk at 6:30pm) which made the ride very smooth."

I had a misunderstanding when I booked the reservation about having the doors off during the helicopter ride, but that checked us in was able to accommodate us and we were able to get on with the doors off. The manager was also helpful by approving the last minute change. Honestly, everyone was just very helpful from the moment we checked in, going over the safety measures, the pilot, and the guy who took pictures of us! We would recommend rainbow helicopters to our peers and would use them again for future flights."

We didn't book a private flight but were upgraded to private when we arrived, which was lovely and much appreciated. Julian was our pilot and he was fantastic! Very friendly, funny, and knowledgeable of the island. We did a doors off tour and it was great. It was really cool to see the island from so high up. They warn you it's windy but it was still so much windier than we expected, especially for anyone in the back seats. I had to hold my headset on the whole time to keep it from blowing off because it wouldn't tighten enough to stay put with the strong winds. Overall it was a great experience and we'd recommend everyone take this tour. It's immediately become one of our favorite experiences in Hawaii to date!"

  24. "YA GIRL GOT ENGAGED ON ONE OF THESE HELI'S. We went on the 45 min tour with pilot Julian. Originally, we were going to be in the big shared helicopter but it was unavailable at our tour time. The staff ended up giving us a private tour in one of the smaller helicopters and it was awesome. Julian was so friendly and honestly treated us like old friends. He had cool facts to share and was very personable. I 10000% recommend. It was beyond beautiful and such a wild and cool way to see the island. I will say, we went on the 4pm tour which was super nice since the sunset was at 5:45pm. There was still a lot of light but not beating down. My videos came out great. I wore a sweatshirt and shorts with doors off and by the end of the 45 mins was a little chilly. It is December though so maybe during summer it's not as bad.. either way 100% do the doors off!"

I was so sad, then the staff turned it around and made sure that we got the full experience, offered to reschedule us, and were the kindest people. These employees are amazing!!! I can't remember the name of the girl who helped us reschedule and took care of us, I think it was Kamalani, but she was the SWEETEST!
